How is it possible to work with the Congress party which works against all the principles and ideals that we have believed in and advocated?
Former CM Jagdish Shettar joined Congress today. About this K.S. Eshwarappa wrote an open letter to Shettar saying how is it possible to work with the Congress party which works against all the principles and ideals that we have believed in and advocated? Jagdish Shettar asked him.
My best regards to Hon'ble Mr. Jagadish Shettar.
In this changed situation, I am very reminded of your revered father Mr. Shivappa Shettar, who has given up the philosophy and political stance that he believed in and shaped his political life for more than 4 decades and turned towards the Congress party.
Shivappa Shettar, who formed his political life under the strong influence of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak (RSS) Sangh, engaged himself in public service as a member of the city council, mayor, MLA and above all as a loyal worker of the party through the Bharatiya Janata Party. He who has always condemned the anti-national attitudes of the Congress party, has not only been elected as an MLA many times through the Bharatiya Janata Party but also rose to the height of becoming the Chief Minister of the state.
I can understand their feeling of being upset with the decision taken by the motherly guarded party in the present situation. But it is very unfortunate that they want to leave the party and join the Congress party which is against the ideology of our party.
One day in the future, in the event that he won from the Congress party, if there is a debate in the house about cow slaughter, will he be able to justify cow slaughter? Can they agree to lift the PFI ban in a pro-con debate on militant PFI organisation? His fierce fight against the Congress party, which opposed the hoisting of the tricolor flag at Eidgah Maidan in Hubli, is still fresh in my mind.
Now how can they accept the same party? How is it possible to work with the Congress party which works against all the principles and ideals that we have believed in and advocated? I request you to think about this once.
Before taking the important decision of leaving the party citing the reason that BJP did not allow him to contest in this election only, I request him to take a look at the positions given to him by the party in the past.
